Features of Sheath-Type Thermocouples (1) Despite having a very thin exterior, the airtightness is extremely high, preventing erosion of the thermocouple wire by metal gases or atmospheric gases, thus prolonging its lifespan. (2) Because it has undergone complete bright annealing, it is highly flexible and can be easily bent by hand into a circle three times its diameter without the risk of breaking. Additionally, since there is no oxide film on the sheath, it can be directly sealed and welded. (3) It not only withstands high temperatures and high pressures but also achieves responsiveness to extremely rapid temperature changes.

This is a sensor in which a thermocouple wire is sealed inside a metal thin tube (sheath) along with high-purity MgO insulating powder, and it has many advantages such as the following: (Other materials besides SUS316 and Inconel are also available.) - Resistant to vibration and shock - Excellent thermal responsiveness, capable of following even slight temperature changes - Can be freely bent into shape, allowing for detailed measurements (The minimum bending radius can be up to three times the outer diameter of the sheath) - Maintains high insulation properties.
